The 2021 Virginia Scottish Games are on... and Fiddle Club will be there!

Yes, the Virginia Scottish Games  ( are happening Sept. 4-5, 2021 and PVSFC is again performing at the Fiddle Tent.  This year's performance will be Saturday, Sept. 4 at 11am  (see Fiddle Tent schedule here).   Elke will teach a workshop at 9am if you want to arrive early and get in on that before our performance.   Although there will not be a hospitality tent this year (i.e. no need to bring snacks to share), we will have our usual Merchandise and Information table.  If you would like to volunteer to help at the table, please let Becky Ross know   ( and whether you can volunteer Saturday or Sunday (or both).

As usual, the Fiddle Competition will be Sunday morning at 10am.  You can find the online registration form for the competition at (click the square "Fiddling" button). New this year to the competition is an Intermediate category (between Novice and Open) for both Junior and Senior competitors. The winners of the Intermediate category will not be eligible to participate in the Nationals. If a competitor wins the Intermediate category 6 times, the competitor will be required to compete in the appropriate Open category.

The music sets for Fiddle Club's performance are available on the Members side of the PVSFC website under Downloads.  Additionally, Elke and Liz have recorded practice videos of each of the sets which are on the PVSFC YouTube Channel under Playlists (or click this link).

In each video, Elke will give instructions on how we will start and end the sets, and other dynamics or harmony information.   Because of Covid concerns regarding hosting rehearsals,  we are not having in-person rehearsals this year and are relying on you to practice with the videos.

If you are planning to perform with Fiddle Club on Sept. 4 at 11 am or are volunteering to help with the Merch table on Saturday or Sunday, then you must notify Becky ( by Aug. 31, so we can leave a wristband (i.e. entrance ticket) at the Will-Call station by the Entrance gate.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask Becky (
